Spring Returns: Let the Good Times Roll?strollers and Their Babies

Spring has returned with an invitation to come outside and enjoy the fresh air. Winter’s ice and snow have melted away– gone forever like bad memories, the sidewalks and streets are dry, clear, and passable. Green replaces brown as the color of the local landscape. The Sun is shining bright; there is a fresh crispness in the air as gentle breezes enter through the newly opened windows delivering the invitation. The temperatures hover around sixty degrees. Parents read the invitation again: “Come, come outside and play, enjoy the outdoors with me”…signed “Spring”.

Mothers and Fathers, who have safely bundled up their babies and toddlers with layers of clothes during the winter months and carried them over the ice and snow, begin to slowly return to the neighborhood sidewalk and streets, parks, and malls, pushing their small babies along in their strollers. New parents or parents-to-be begin to shop for baby strollers so they can join other neighborhood moms or dads who set out for the great outdoors in response to spring’s invitation.

Life and people like the budding bushes, flowers, and trees reappear in neighborhoods adding themselves to the mosaic street scenes of springtime. The exercising, health minded parents, in steady paces push their baby or babies in their single or double jogging strollers putting in their scheduled run for the day.

The cyclist enthusiasts lovingly secure their precious little ones in the bike trailers already attached to their choice of transportation, and pedal their way around the neighborhood in streets and on sideways with destinations unknown. Their babies and toddlers in their safety compartment enjoy the nice fresh air from their modern day “horse-driven” carriage that they have been deprived of all winter long.

With only a sweater or jacket as needed outerwear, they regally take in the sights and sounds of the beautiful fresh spring views as the gentle breezes caress their little faces through the screened windows of the enclosed cart. Mom or dad supplies the “horsepower” in front of them as they enjoy their “royal ride” through neighborhood of the local stately mansions.

Elsewhere, neighborhood moms, with Spring’s invitation in hand and the other hand on a stroller, join each other leisurely pushing their infants along side by side in single or double umbrella strollers sharing their stories of motherhood, and how they survived the winter doldrums being locked up indoors all season long. Each new breath of spring’s fresh air is really a sigh of relief of freedom for these winter prisoners. Off to the local park they go to join other proud parents to present their blessed children to each other (maybe for the first time), share parenting strategies and techniques, and catch up on the latest happenings in their neighborhoods.

Strollers these days come in many brand names, such BOB, Maclaren, TikeTech, and Bugaboo with different models that cater to sports minded parents, all-terrain, walking, jogging, cycling or hybrids. There are wide varieties of shapes and sizes for single, double, or triples passengers. They have umbrella type coverings, retractable canopies, prams, open air types, or enclosed cabins. Like in a paint store the colors are plentiful. There are three wheelers and four wheelers. There are set wheels and swivel wheels. They may have one carrying compartment or multiple compartments for the journey’s needed cargo. There’s something to meet every parent’s need to safely share the lovely outdoors and warm weather with their precious little child or children.

So let the good times roll as moms and dads, walking, jogging, or biking return to the sidewalks and streets of our neighborhoods; and reminds us all to look for that invitation to enjoy the outdoors, the fresh air, and the new life all around us, especially when we peek into those strollers to get a glimpse of the cute little babies who are their passengers.

Baby Strollers – Are You Overlooking the Most Important Factor?

Unlike the past, today’s parents are fortunate to have a much broader selection of baby strollers available to them. There are multiple styles from which to choose. Strollers are available in a multitude of colors, and with an assortment of features. Whether you have an infant or toddler, one child or several children, there is a stroller made with you in mind. With all of the choices now available, parents shopping for a baby stroller quickly fall into feature comparisons and overlook one, very important factor: their lifestyles.

Today’s active lifestyles and hectic schedules demand more variety than ever before, and stroller manufacturers have answered the call with a plethora of styles. From the styles of the turn of the century to the modern athletic trend, there are many types of baby strollers:

• traditional baby prams, similar to the bassinet style baby carriage in which you may have, at one time, felt at home;
• modern style strollers which can accommodate from infants through toddlers;
• umbrella and lightweight strollers for convenient trips to the local store;
• jogging strollers to handle the fast pace of the day’s routine run; and
• all-terrain strollers for outdoor recreation and strolling across rough terrains.

Along with each of the many baby stroller types comes a broad selection of features. From wheel size to handlebar height there are many standard features to be considered. There are also may optional, and add-on, features that need to be considered, ranging from storage and snack trays to sunroofs.

Selecting the best baby stroller can be a daunting task. Many parents jump right into the task by gathering data for many of the available baby strollers; by looking at the different styles; and by immediately comparing the long list of features. Some parents even make detailed comparison tables to evaluate the plethora of information. It is certainly necessary to perform adequate research to make the best possible purchase decision; however, most parents do not take into account their lifestyle – overlooking the one critical factor which will significantly influence their long-term satisfaction with their baby stroller.

Before you find yourself getting caught up in the details of stroller features, take the time to think about your lifestyle, your activities, your personal style, and how the stroller needs to fit to your daily activities. Be sure to ask yourself questions such as:

• Will I be using the stroller for a lot of long trips or mostly local outings about town?
• What about taking walks around the neighborhood, at the beach, or in the local park?
• Do I want to continue (or start) physical activities such as running?
• Will we be participating in outdoor recreation activities?
• Which vehicles will be used for transporting the baby stroller?

Once you address these questions for yourself, you will be able to focus in on a true apples-to-apples comparison of baby strollers and their features and will be more able to select the best match for your lifestyle and your satisfaction.

The Advantages of Sit and Stand Strollers

In the past, parents found it hard to attend to two kids all at the same time, while they are out of the house. Baby carriages or prams did not help because previous models were only available with one seat. But with current innovations, it is possible for you to keep a watchful eye on your two children. Sit and stand strollers are popular are recently the leading choices among parents that have a baby and a toddler. The strollers nowadays are available in different types. Examples of these are jogging strollers, double strollers, twin strollers, and triplet strollers. If you want, you can purchase a car seat stroller that you can fit easily into the backseat of your vehicle.

Perfect for Toddlers and Babies:

Sit and stand strollers are designed specifically for parents that are taking care of both a toddler and an infant. These strollers allow the baby to recline or sit comfortably in front while the older sibling can stand on the platform at the back. He or she holds on the bar, facing forward. Alternatively, your toddler can sit on the jump seat, facing you while you are pushing the stroller around. This type of stroller proves to be very convenient because it allows you to keep watch of both your children at the same time.

Better than Conventional Strollers:

Compared to conventional double strollers, sit and stand strollers come with more advantages. They are more compact and lighter, which is why they are easier to push around or maneuver through narrow passages. A sit and stand stroller can be folded up to a smaller size, making it easy for you to store it into small spaces in your home. Since your older child is staying at the back, the added weight lets you control the stroller easily.

Safety Guidelines:

Sit and stand strollers are incorporated with a platform for your toddler. This is designed in a way that your child can step on it and off from it conveniently, without your assistance. This is a great benefit. The most common guideline provided by the manufacturer, when it comes to the use of a sit and stand stroller, states that your older child has to be around two and a half years old. He or she should not exceed forty inches and/or forty-five pounds.

Used as a Car Seat:

If you want your sit and stand stroller to function as a car seat stroller, there are manufacturers in the market that do provide you with this additional feature. There are some sit and stand strollers that can accommodate a car baby seat within it. This is a practical type of stroller, especially if you want to easily transport your baby from the vehicle to his or her stroller.

Travel in city with kids

When friends and family Call Me Crazy for traveling with my infant and preschooler in such cities as Chicago, New York, and Toronto, I just laugh. My children munched on picnic treats are watching the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Millennium Park, clambered up the monkey bars in the shadow of the arch in Washington Square Park and peered through the glass floor to the observation deck in the CN Tower. Although it has not always been easy to navigate city streets with two kids in tow, it was well worth the candle. I had a fantastic time and I could tell from the way they talked about traveling for a few months after this that my children had a great time.

The city is fun and educational activities for children. From a skyscraper to the highest level of museums, children can see and experience that are simply unavailable in small towns. While the city travel with young children can be challenging, with careful planning and attention to detail you can relax. Here are some tips to help you visit go smoothly:

Take a carriage. Even if it was some time since your child uses a wheel chair, you’ll be glad that you brought. City tours are usually linked lot of walking from spot to spot and can tire out a little bit easier. In the wheelchair he can ride in comfort, and you will not be afraid of losing him in the crowd. I found that inexpensive umbrella strollers work much better than in large, heavy pram complete with food trays and cups holders. Umbrella strollers fold up smaller and lighter, making them more convenient for toting up and down flights of stairs or carrying on the subway.

Make frequent stops at the playground. In most of the city, a visit could be just walking around, popping in the unusual shops, watching people and enjoying the city of energy. Remember that your toddler or preschooler may be very sick, he got it. I’ve found that stopping to play for a few minutes at playgrounds that we happen upon is a great way for the little ones to work some of their energy off. They also love the novelty of playing on different equipment than the same old things found in the parks back home.

Bring a travel pack of wipes. Even if you do not germ nazi, you’ll be glad you did. These town halls, banisters and benches can be very dirty, but after a little cleaning up to wipe your hands, you feel more comfortable about returning it to DIG delicious hot dogs from street vendors.

Choose carefully cafe. If the food in a sit-down restaurant in Nice, make sure that it is noisy enough to absorb your baby babble. I learned that one the hard way, when tired of our long drive, we decided to eat at our hotel in Chicago in the house restaurant, a warm place with a hushed atmosphere and waiters in white gloves hovering about. Of course, my two-year-old decided to belt out the Organization’s “itsy-bitsy-spider” over and over again. We wound up with the food sent to our room. The next night, we chose a popular, lively Italian restaurant where the little guy was not louder than anyone in the place.

Plan of activities for children. Big cities offer all sorts of interesting and educational activities for children of all ages. Do a little research on the Internet and in guidebooks before the time to find a few sights to the age of your child. Has it been twenty years since you participated in any of these activities themselves? Just might find yourself enjoying a tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton in the museum of natural history and to look at polar bears in the water slide at the zoo.

Plan of activities for adults. Directions as museums may be included in the agenda, but keep in mind your child’s limitations and be prepared to reduce the short way out, if need be. Try to bring it to the Art Museum. Ask questions like: “What do you see in this picture? Do you have a boat? Which picture do you like in this room?” Visit any child exhibits the museum may have to ask at the information bureau of exhibitions, which are the biggest hits for children.

Take the bus or subway. Mass transit is a challenge for a small town kid. After the tour ended, he can talk about it as the bones of dinosaurs. Try to avoid traveling at rush hour, but when the sardine can atmosphere may be covered by a little one.

Bassiinets for Your First Baby in the Home

Any parent would wish for the best for his or her baby. In any case, getting a bassinet for your baby is actually the correct way to go. A bassinet provides a safe and durable place for your baby to rest, lessening the initial anxiousness you can feel about caring for him and making sure his or her safety.
A bassinet can be quite classy. With so many parents making an argument out of mobility these days, particularly those that still work full-time while managing a family at the same time.

Babies are typically more susceptible to infections and sicknesses, and having a light physical shield to protect them from bacteria in the air in some sense lessens the danger of them catching an infection, even though only to a partial extent.
Bassinets can also be quite flexible as they can be converted to actual prams and carriages, given that you’ve got the wheels and the tools to add on to it.
in general, there are just two types of bassinets. There is the still bassinet, and there is also, as discussed, the portable bassinet. Also touted’Moses baskets’ the still bassinet can’t be moved around as it is engineered to have a more permanent fixture in your house. A movable bassinet serves useful to those that are consistently traveling – these might be the more sturdy types of bassinets as they are particularly designed to withstand effects of the rain or the sun, or this weather.

This is reasonably simple to identify, as all you need is to ask these questions : Will I be traveling frequently? Will I always be bringing my baby with me as I travel? If your answers to both questions are yes, then you must certainly invest in a bassinet of your own – particularly a movable bassinet.

Bassinets are typically engineered to provide that safe, comfy, and secure feeling which will make the baby sleep better. In fact, most neo-natal units use bassinets to allow babies to sleep well.
Bassinets also work better for rooms that have less space because they require less litter to line up, and are daintier and lovelier to take a look at than most cribs.

Do not be blinded by bigger sizes if you know that it’ll only end up making your room look quite cluttered.
As for quality, while portable bassinets are normally the sturdier kind, choose a bassinet which will last for ages especially if you are planning to have more kids after.

Never hesitate to pay premium for a good quality bassinet – this is an important thing to bear in mind. Remember that this is now about the safety and security of your baby – of course you don’t want to chance those by buying a cheap yet low quality bassinet.

There are many things that you can do with your bassinet when you feel that you no longer need it.

In other words, a bassinet could be a very important part of your life as a mom. These are two things which you will not and should not compromise when it comes to child rearing. Ensure you do your analysis ahead before purchasing your selection of bassinet so that the investment you make will truly be worthwhile. Good luck, and happy bassinet shopping!

Your Child Has Learned To Lie? Here Are A Few Practical Suggestions

Your child has grown up, and suddenly one day you ask him a question and he answers in an unexpected way. This is the moment that you discover that your sweetheart with blonde curls and angelic eyes has learned to lie. Why does this phenomenon occur? What is the difference between lying and imagination? Is it inherited or acquired, and in general- how can one prevent this phenomenon from reoccuring? Here are a few points that shed light on the subject, as well as tips and explanations for coping with the phenomenon.

The suggestions and explanations are taken from the world of the Wisdom of Kabbalah which deals with the connection between people and teaches us how to rise above phenomena that lead to a feeling of separation, which is created by the ego between us, bringing us to a feeling of unity and mutual connection.

Is it a lie or imagination?

There is a difference between lying and imagination in children. Imagination is actually the child’s desire for a situation that he would like to be in, that he is not in at present. This stems from children not clearly understanding the difference between (what is) desired and (what is) actual, and therefore often those situations and stories that the child speaks of are not lies but simply his world.

For example, children think that the dolls in the pram(carriage) or the small cars are in fact real. For them, the babies and large cars that they see in the street are a lie. Thus for them, changing from truth to a lie and from a lie to truth, is completely natural. Our task, as parents and teachers, is to help them build a world that is suitable for them, a world that will gradually develop from all these lies-the rag doll and the toy car- until they grow and replace the games with real things.

So what do we do?

Firstly, we need to understand that this is part of natural development. This is how nature organizes it, and we need to love them in spite of all their imaginings, until they overcome them. In fact, for children, everything around them is part of the world that has to suit them. So for them it is not a lie, but imagination, and this is the way they see it, so much so that they sense and live it. So they do not differentiate at all between the two.

Meals On Wheels, An Honorable Service

It was in World War II and during “The Blitz” which was the sustained bombing of Great Britain by Nazi Germany between September 1940 and May 1941 that “Meals on Wheels” was born. In London alone a million houses were destroyed or damaged and over 50,000 innocent men, women and children lost their lives. Many people who had lost everything including their homes lost the ability to cook food for themselves. That is where the Women’s Volunteer Service for Civil Defence, (WVS, later known as WRVS), provided food for these people.

The “Meals on Wheels” name originated and was derived from the Women’s Volunteer Service related activities of bringing meals to servicemen in the war. Today, the evolution of “Meals on Wheels” into the modern day programmes that deliver mostly to the housebound elderly for free or with donations started with the concept of delivering meals to those unable to prepare their own meals in the war.

In 1947, after World War II in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England, “Meals on Wheels” very first home delivery was made by the Women’s Volunteer Service. To keep the meals warm in transit WVS in the early days used straw bales, blankets and even old felt hats and many early services used old prams (baby carriages) to transport the meals.

It was in 1965; Calgary, Canada, a plea from the Hospital Chaplaincy Committee of the Calgary Presbytery of the United Church that “Meals on Wheels” started, and was formed in response to that plea from the Chaplaincy Committee for the needs of the elderly living alone and those being discharged from hospital to help. In 1965, November 15, the first meal service started serving eight people, and by 1982 the number of people getting hot meals had increased to over 400 a day. In 2010, Calgary Meals on Wheels celebrated its 45th Anniversary, and never missed a meal delivery in its 45 year history, delivering to some 2000 people, plus services to several unique programmes. A pool of some 800 volunteers donate just under 80,000 hours of time a year to deliver meals five days a week within Calgary to people in need, a highly honorable job to be very proud of and a job well done.

Today, “Meals on Wheels” programs generally operate at the county level or smaller. “Meals on Wheels” programs vary widely in their size, scope, service provided, organization and types of funding. ”Meals on Wheels” now exist in several countries around the world, and there are active and large “Meals on Wheels” programs in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

A “Meals on Wheels Volunteer” quote:

“My Nan used to tell me to help out the seniors as much as possible. After all, we all make it to that stage at some point in our lives. Many younger people take their youth for granted, but the reality of the situation is that we’re all just a step or two from disability and old age ourselves. At some point, it may be us who need the friendly volunteers at Meals on Wheels.”

“If you have some free time, consider helping out in the community. You’ll feel a sense of satisfaction, be able to meet some new people and enjoy the sunshine doing it. Many hands make light work, and if we all work together, we can make our communities a better place to live.”

“Meals on Wheels” is a great cause. It is sad that it is mostly the elderly doing the volunteering. The result of the “ME” Generation.

The Virtues Of The Maclaren Triumph Child Buggy

Maclaren makes a great baby stroller. The overall weight of the typical carriage is less than twenty pounds. These pushchairs are great for any child over three months of age. Accessories such as the hood serve to protect the pram as well as the child from the elements. The foam handle design is also new. Your straps come in two colors and is woven.

The design is optimized ergonomically and the brakes are linked to a parking pedal which are operated by foot. It has a lifetime warranty. You are able to remove the seat and bathe it as well. The cover is designed and made to resist water and the frame is aluminum and designed for high performance.

Testimonials on this infant carrier are glowing. It is reported as lightweight and it seems that children simply love it. Though it is a lightweight stroller, the functionality is excellent.

Parents tell that its simplicity of folding makes it a certain favorite. It can straightforwardly be carried without impeding your capacity to also carry your kid. The design allows you to unfold it with one hand..

Generally, the Maclaren design is so light that carrying it over long distances is not a problem. It is also very comfortable to carry as well. Additional designs are considerably more heavy, this makes the more clumsy to handle.

Even if it is light, its handling capabilities are extremely decent. Sidewalks, bricks, uneven or even present no problem to this item. Other models are seemingly quite aggravating to operate.

The recline may not be as pronounced as other versions, however, it is still good enough to keep the baby sleeping when necessary. It is worth getting over other models.

The strength of this is much about which to get excited. After months of daily use you will feel that it still functions as good as new. It is well constructed and the parts are of a superior quality. This will not pack up in a couple of months. You can see that kids simply like being pushed in it.

On extremely sunny days, it will be essential for your little one to dress in a hat or sunglasses if appropriate. This is no different to other strollers, so this should not be seen as a negative.

There is an additional model that is almost the same in the event you take the time to test-drive it. This model nevertheless seems to be favored. The durability and the cloth is what obtained the vote. It was touch and go as to which one was the best. The pattern on the back is brown and white and adds to the attractiveness of the Maclaren triumph baby pushchair. So overall and pound for pound, it appears that this is superior to many other models on the market. The price of these items should also be weighed up ahead of making a conclusion. This item is only going to be needed for a few years.

As a parent, your child’s security is principal above everything else. The <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.mclarenstroller.biz/mclaren-strollers/”> Maclaren extreme child pushchair</a> delivers security, and comfort as well as the fashion that your preschooler deserves.
